DIY Halloween Candy Dispenser

2 Mins read

I don’t know where in the world September went, but tomorrow, October will be here and I am already planning some fun ideas for Halloween. Every Halloween, we host a dinner for our family before we take the kids trick-or-treating. My sister and I want the kids to actually sit down and eat a good meal before they head out to collect all their candy. As I was thinking about all the different things I want to do for Halloween this year, I thought it would be fun to make a DIY Candy Dispenser.

Along with hosting our family for dinner, we always have friends stop by on Halloween night to trick-or-treat. I thought it would be fun to set up a “treat station” that both the parents and kids could help themselves to.

I constructed a  Frankenstein Halloween Candy Dispenser to add to the station.

I covered the cereal box with green paper using tape and glue. Then, I cut some “hair” from the black construction paper and glued it on the top portion of the box. Next, I cut two circles from the white paper and two smaller circles from back paper to make eyes. Last, I cut a scar from the black paper and glued it on the “cheek” of Frankenstein.

I used a serrated knife to cut a “mouth” in the box.

Then, I filled it with assorted fun size candy.

That’s it! This candy dispenser project is so easy to do that the kids can help you make them.

This treat station is simple, but festive. The parents and kids only stay to show off their costumes and grab a treat, so this will work out perfectly.

I am having so much fun already planning for our Halloween night festivities. We look forward to this tradition every year and love spending the time with family and friends.

Now, if only the costume choices were this easy. 😉

Do you have any Halloween traditions? What are they?
