Welcome to the Fall Ideas Tour 2016! This week has been jam packed full of amazing fall ideas for your entire home. You can see the list of posts at the end of this post. I can’t tell you how excited I am about writing fall posts! As I am writing this, the crisp breeze is coming through the windows just enough to need a blanket on my lap. What season is better than this? This year, I am going to force myself to soak up as much of this season as I can. I am keeping the decorating very simple and paying more attention to the fun things about the season; apple orchards, pumpkin baking, fall candles and admiring the changing trees. I am always yearning for fall to start, but then I really want it to linger on so we don’t rush right into winter. This fall blog tour has so many different spaces around your home covered for fall. You aren’t going to want to miss any of the days on this tour. There is a list of links to all the posts at the end of this post, but first, I am excited to share my simple fall porch decor with you.
When I start thinking about bringing a season or holiday to our porch, I want to make simple statements that aren’t hard to do and can easily be changed out throughout the year. This summer, our front porch has been bare. Very bare. I just wasn’t inspired to do anything with it so I left it alone. We got busy with our back porch makeover and that took all of my attention. I did however, make a patio dream board because I really wanted to make the front porch more inviting. I picked our porch for this blog tour so I would push myself to do a little something out there. Thanks to some recent finds from Restore, it came together simply and ready for fall.
The first thing I found at Restore was this rocking chair. It is old, wood and has a rustic feel.
The best part is that it had no seat. The perfect place for a potted mum.
The next thing I found was this sweet. little step-ladder. It was perfect for holding some small terra-cotta pots filled with mums.
My Burlap Pumpkin Wreath makes a fall backdrop for the porch. A couple of bushel baskets and a galvanized bucket are “fall” on their own. They are also great for storing footballs when we are done playing in the front yard. Fall and football go hand in hand.
I was on a desperate search for real pumpkins to add to the porch, but couldn’t find them anywhere. I found some small hay bales that worked great though. Who needs pumpkins to bring fall to your front porch anyway? Not me!
This fall porch came together with simple pieces and a few mums. It doesn’t have to take a ton of time or a lot of money to make your porch welcoming for a new season.
How do you bring fall to your porch?
