DIY Arrow Symbol Art {DIY in 30}

2 Mins read

Arrow symbol art. I have seen so many versions in the past and even made a 5 minute arrow art piece last year from some frame samples. Recently, I have seen some arrow pieces that I really liked, but nothing I wanted to buy. I have wanted to incorporate a gallery wall some place in our home. Why? I am not sure. There is something about a gallery wall that is tugging at my decorating strings. I have just had an urge to create one. This DIY Arrow Symbol Art project has helped me get started.

When I was looking through our Valentine decorations (what little we have), I brought out the red arrow garland I picked up from the Target Hot Spot last year. I didn’t love it as a garland last year so I knew I wasn’t going to use it that way this year. Then, the light bulb went off. The arrows were a great size and I loved their shape. They would become the jumping off point for a gallery wall in the room we are making over for the kiddos!

Supplies Used To Make DIY Arrow Symbol Art:

Wood Arrows

Fusion Mineral Paint (any paint will work)

Nails

Old Board

Picture Hanger

This arrow garland is great, but I wasn’t going to use it again.

I cut the ribbon and pulled the arrows off. (I will reuse all that ribbon.)

There were a couple different colors left over from my Fusion Mineral Paint stash. I used them for the arrows.

I decided on blues, a light gray and a greige color.

Once the paint dried, I lined up all the arrow symbols in an old board we had in the garage and used small nails to attach them.

This Repurposed Arrow Symbol Art is the first addition to the gallery wall that has been on my brain for a long time.

(On a side note… Scrabble is a lot more fun without the board when you play with the kids. 🙂 )

A free clock was hung on the wall and we also hung an old Cribbage board.

I am really excited to find (or make) more things for this little gallery wall.

I want it to be fun for the kids, but also make a statement in the room as well.

This Repurposed Arrow Symbol Art was done in less than thirty minutes (not including drying time for the paint). It was a great way for me to reuse something I wasn’t going to use and make it into something great for this room. If you are getting out your Valentine decorations and find something you don’t love, get creative and maybe you can make it into something you will absolutely love. Crazier things have happened. 🙂
