Today, I have another “DIY in 30” project to share with you. The 30 minute projects are some of my favorite because they show you that not all DIY has to be scary, time-consuming or cost a lot of money. These DIY bookends were a cinch to make and they make a fun statement in the home office.

Supplies Needed To Make Gold Dipped Number DIY Bookends:
Scarp Wood
Screws
I picked up these wood numbers at a yard sale this past summer because I love numbers. I don’t know what it is about them, but numbers can be a lot of fun when you add them to your decor. They can represent whatever you want them too or they don’t have to represent anything. I just grabbed the four numbers they had and knew I would find a fun project for them.
To make these wood numbers DIY bookends, I first stained them with Dark Walnut Minwax Stain. (I used the 2 and the 5 for the bookends, but stained the other numbers to so I could add them to our home in other places.
Once that dried, I painted the bottom portion of the number with Gold Modern Masters Paint.
Then, Matt cut scrap wood from the garage in about 3″ pieces to screw into the back of each of the number.
I painted the scrap wood with the gold paint as well.
Viola! I have some great bookends that incorporate some fun numbers in the office!
This project took less than thirty minutes to make and I used products I already had on hand.
