DIY Botanical Herb Wall Hanging With Chalk Couture

2 Mins read

This DIY Botanical Herb Wall Hanging has moved up to one of my favorite projects I have done with Chalk Couture Chalk Paste and Transfers. I love botanical prints, like the ones I bought for our entry HERE a few years ago, but they can be expensive to buy. Even when I find them in thrift stores, they mark them up very high. (I was lucky enough to score two, framed botanical prints in one of my favorite thrift stores a few weeks ago though!Just a reminder: I share my thrift store shopping trips on my Instagram page, Facebook page and my YouTube channel. When I saw the new transfers that Chalk Couture was coming out with in spring, I couldn’t wait to order the Fresh Herbs Transfer.

I knew that I could create all kind of great things with that one transfer alone. A few months ago, I picked up some wood wall hangers on clearance at Target. I have been holding on to them for the perfect project and when I saw the herb transfer, I knew a DIY botanical herb wall hanging would be a perfect project for them.

Magnetic Wood Poster Hanger

I created a video showing how easy it was for me to create this DIY botanical herb wall hanging:

This took me less than 30 minutes to create three wall hangings!! The part that took the most time was cutting the canvas to size. I wanted the prints to look organic and not like they had been mass-produced. I wanted them to look raw, imperfect and amazing. Chalk Couture makes it so easy to create pieces like this. The best part is that I will be using the herb transfer on wood boxes, signs, crates and other things I find this spring and summer because I can use the transfer over and over again!

The simplicity of these botanical herb prints is what I love about them most. The fact that they are on a canvas drop cloth is even better. The frayed edges make them raw and full of character. I think we sometimes put too much pressure on our projects and the way we decorate our homes. If we would relax a little bit and have fun with decorating, I think we will enjoy it more and discover things we never thought we would have liked in our decor.

I would love to hear what you would put the herb transfers on. What kinds of projects could you come up with?
