This DIY Felted Acorn Decor could not be any easier, and the outcome is so cute. These are definitely something I will have out year after year.

Supplies Used To Make This DIY Felted Acorn Decor:
Felt Balls (I got the 1″ size)
We used to have three beautiful oak trees on our street and the kids and I would pick up acorns that fell from them and do all kinds of activities with them. It is something we did every fall. I would put them in the oven at 250° – 300° for at least an hour. Putting them in the oven ensured the bugs were out of them before we used them in any projects (I was always still skeptical). Since we had the derecho storm come through in August, those trees are gone and so are the days of having endless acorns to use in projects and activities. So, I bought my acorn tops for this project. You could definitely use acorns from your neighborhood if you are lucky enough to have them.
If you did not want to use felt balls, you could use pom-poms.

When I saw the different colored green felt balls, I had to make these acorns. Green is my favorite color and it will always be in our decor so these little guys will come out every fall.
I wanted to use the acorns in a cloche, but I can think of so many different ways you could use them:
- a garland
- a vase filler
- a cloche filler
- napkin rings
- ornaments
- centerpiece
- sprinkle them down the table at Thanksgiving
- different colored acorns could be used as drink markers around stems of glasses tied with baker’s twine
There are so many options for these little guys. What else can you think of?
I had this little cloche and wanted to add something in it for fall. These worked perfectly.
The simplest projects can yield the best home decor! It doesn’t have to be complicated and require power tools to make a decor statement. A hot glue gun goes a long way sometimes.
Any time I can sit down and come away with cute decor in under thirty minutes, I am a happy girl.
