DIY Small Wreaths That Cost Under $2 To Make

2 Mins read

If you saw my repurposed chair project last week, then you know this DIY Small Wreaths Under $2 post was coming soon. After we hung the wood chairs on the entry wall, I felt like they needed something else. After living with them for a few days, the thought of small, green wreaths hung on each one kept coming back to me. When I started searching for small wreaths online and in stores, I couldn’t believe how much they were!

I was fine with buying one wreath at the prices I saw, but because I needed six of them, I was not okay with spending that much. I had to get creative and figure out how to DIY small wreaths that didn’t cost a fortune. After a few failed attempts at different ideas, Matt and I were at Michaels and came up with a great DIY small wreath that was going to fit the bill. I can’t believe I got the small wreaths I wanted for under $2 each!

Easy DIY Small Wreaths Under $2

To make the wreaths, I mixed “Park Bench” and “Midnight Blue” paint from Fusion Mineral Paint to get a color that was close to the color of the dried leaves I picked up at Michaels. I used my Zibra paint brush to paint the wood frames. I made sure to paint around the edges because I knew that would be seen from where they were hanging. Once the paint dried, I removed the inside cardboard advertisement and hot glued the dried leaves all around the frame.

Then, I hot glued jute twine on the back of the frames for easy hanging.

That’s it!

I created a video of the creation process:

In the end, I had custom wreaths for my repurposed chairs for under $2! I never thought I would find a solution that cheap, but I am not complaining that I did. I did have the paint and twine on hand so that lowered my cost, but you could get the same color paint in the craft paints that are very inexpensive. And, you can use any ribbon, twine or wire you have lying around to hang the wreaths.

Don’t have time to DIY small wreaths? I found some great options online:

Any time that I can figure out a way to create something for our home on a dime, I get excited to share it with you here. I always think that if I am struggling to find something at a reasonable price, other people might have the same struggle. If I can help just one of you with these projects, then my mission is accomplished.

You could hang these anywhere in your home and by adding different ribbon to them throughout the year means they will last through every season.
