Family-Friendly Lakefront Cabin In Missouri

6 Mins read

I want to thank GlampingHub for partnering with me on this stay at a family-friendly lakefront cabin in Missouri. Our time there was so much fun. We can’t wait to go back. All opinions are my own.

This family-friendly lakefront cabin in Missouri is a GlampingHub getaway that has the luxuries of a resort while being surrounded by nature.

When Matt and I started dating, we did a lot of camping. Back then, camping consisted of a tent, blowup mattress, and roasting marshmallows over a fire. Matt was really into camping when I met him and we spent many weekends at campgrounds with friends. We continued tent camping after we got married, but once we had our kids, camping wasn’t as fun. There was a lot more “stuff” to pack, it wasn’t as easy and laid back anymore, and the kids weren’t too fond of it.

Over the year, we have taken many trips with the kids. Most have consisted of hotels and condo rentals. Those are great, but there is something about taking a family vacation in the woods, in nature, surrounded by trees and water. There is something magical about a getaway in the great outdoors. When I learned of GlampingHub, I got excited because it was a way to have a “camping” experience, out in nature, with the luxuries and accommodations of a “non-camping” trip.

GlampingHub Has Beautiful Accomodations

When we started looking for some getaway options with GlampingHub, we were blown away by the listings on the site. You can find an amazing stay all over the world! We settled on the family-friendly lakefront cabin in Missouri . We knew it would be a great fit for our family. The chalet we stayed in is located in the Innsbrook Resort. We saw it online but were blown away as soon as we entered the main gates. They welcomed us with a map of the resort and we headed in to find our chalet.

The entire Innsbrook resort felt like a tucked away world.

Once we got past the gate, we felt like we were in a new world. The resort has more than 7500 acres and over 100 lakes! There are custom homes, condos, and chalets like we stayed in. The resort is MASSIVE, but you feel secluded and part of nature the entire time. Do you know how you get a good feeling or a not-so-good feeling as you enter a new vacation spot?

This was such a good feeling as soon as we passed the gates. We had no idea this resort was going to be like this. We couldn’t wait to get to our chalet and check it out. There was a lot to see on the way to our chalet. We saw wildlife, lakes, the golf course, beautiful homes, boats, trees, trails and so much more. We were eager to check out our chalet, but after driving around, we couldn’t wait to explore the entire resort area.

(Side note: We didn’t leave the resort after the first day when we went into town to get groceries. This Family-Friendly Lakefront Cabin In Missouri inside the Innsbrook resort offers so much that you never feel like leaving.)

A family getaway to a chalet inside a resort.

The chalets are tucked away in the woods. It gives you the camping/nature getaway vibe, but you also feel like you are in a tree house which was pretty amazing. Our chalet was on the water which made the stay even more fun. The amenities in our chalet were perfect for our family and the amenities that the rest of the resort provided sealed the deal. We want to return ASAP!

It took the stay over the top. We never left the resort. We spent our time kayaking, paddle boating, swimming at the pool, fishing, walking, running, playing basketball and volleyball, visiting the stables, exploring the trails, visiting the coffee shop, playing the yard games, and so much more!

Those are just some of the things you get in this stay. It is the perfect stay for any family. Our family enjoys a getaway where we are secluded but yet have the ability to do different things while we are vacationing. The Innsbrook Resort gives you just that. We were tucked away in the woods, out in nature, but a part of a beautiful resort with so much to do and see.

The chalet in the woods was the perfect family getaway!

Like I said earlier, the resort offers an outdoor pool, gym, golf course, live bands on Saturday in the summer, basketball court, horse stables, little market, pickleball courts, tennis courts, restaurant, library, hiking trails, and more than 100 lakes!!!!

The chalet fit our family so well too. I love having laundry and a full kitchen where we stay. I can cook meals and keep up with the laundry. Not only does it save on how many clothes you have to bring, but we also save a lot of money by not eating out for every meal. Our family also loved having a chalet on the water. We had our own access to kayaks, fishing gear, paddle boats, rafts, pool noodles and so much more. As a mom, I can appreciate not having to pack up a bunch of things to head to a beach. There are many beaches inside the resort you can use, but we were happy using our water access where we were staying. kitchen

This was our last vacation before school starts and it was the best ending to the summer. I kept telling Matt that I really liked it there and he was so surprised by it all too. You literally feel like you are in a secluded world behind the gates that give you so much to see, do and explore that you don’t have to leave. We think it is such a special place.

After we found the chalet in Missouri, we set up the dates of our trip, and then we were contacted by the host, Sarah. Sarah is from Sarah Bernard Realty and her team makes up the Sarah Bernard Chalets and takes care of your stay there. She was amazing in helping me navigate and prepare for the stay. I had a couple of questions before our stay just to make sure I packed the things we would need and not take things we wouldn’t. Sarah got back to me quickly and she saved me a lot of packing and money since I wasn’t having to buy things that were already supplied at the cabin.

Relaxing days by the lake is a great family vacation.

A few days before our stay, we received all of our confirmation information, a full rundown of things we may want to bring, things we could do during our stay, how to check-in, codes we would need to use, and a pool reservation form (which has been used since the pandemic to limit the number of people in the pool area on the weekends). I felt like we were taken care of from the minute we made the reservation.

Once we had everything unpacked from the car we hopped back in the car to see what else was inside the resort. You can find a video of our stay on my YouTube channel HERE.

Can you even believe this Family-Friendly Lakefront Cabin In Missouri? Who knew this was tucked away in Missouri of all places. It was a little over a four-hour drive from our house. Not only is the drive doable, but the resort and the chalets make it a destination we will definitely go back to.
