Flip House Makeover – Final Photos

Somebody, pinch me please! The flip house is SOLD and today, I am sharing the final photos of the flip house makeover.

Our first flip house experience will go down in the books for so many reasons. Matt and I couldn’t be more happy with how it all played out. We learned so much about the entire process, the kids learned so much and as a family, we bonded throughout the entire flip house makeover project.

Before I get too far in the final photos of the flip house makeover, I want to answer the question we keep getting asked: “Was it worth it? Would you do it again?”

Our answer is, “YES and YES”!

On to the makeover.

I didn’t want to load this post with all the before photos and the after photos so I am just showing the after. To see the BEFORE photos check out this post {HERE}. To get a real appreciation of the flip house makeover, I suggest checking out that post first.

Okay, here we go!

Let’s start off at the front of the house.

Our special order windows finally came in so we were able to finish the windows on the left side. We also scraped and painted the soffits, cleaned the gutters, painted the front steps, patched some concrete, cleaned up the landscaping and edged the grass. We added a new screen door, painted the front door, added a new door knob, painted the brick planter and added flowers. We painted the mailbox, cleaned up the front window and cleaned up the bushes.

The house has so much more curb appeal now. I couldn’t resist the mats I found at Michaels for the front and side door.

On the side of the house, we cleaned up all of the landscaping, added a new screen door and side door. We put in a new window and painted the sides of the stairs. We painted all of the trim of the basement windows as well.

The garage needed a little TLC. We scraped and painted the door, trim and windows. We cleaned and fixed the gutters around the garage as well.

In the back yard, we took out the broken patio and old fence. We added new sod and transplanted some plants. We fixed the clothes line and cleaned up the yard and trees. The back yard is one of my favorite parts of the house. It is private and HUGE!

We will be adding a gate between the house and the garage for the new home owners.

The back of the house looks so much better with the new windows. We scraped and painted the soffits back here as well. We also cleaned all of the gutters. It is amazing what paint and a good cleaning did to this house.

Now, to the kitchen.

The kitchen is so cute!

We painted the cabinets in Alabaster from Sherwin Williams.

We added new knobs from Hickory Hardware.

We put in new countertops, sink and light fixtures. All of the plumbing under the sink has been redone.

The new windows in the kitchen brightened up the room so much. I am SO HAPPY we decided to replace the nine windows we did.

We added a new wood top to the cabinet in the eat-in area.

The living room has new paint and carpet. We added all new electrical outlets and switches throughout the house.

The bedrooms got new windows, carpet, paint and light fixtures.

The bathroom got a HUGE makeover. I am going to write a separate post about the bathroom because we are still waiting on the window trim for the tub surround. Here is a sneak peek.

The hooks from Hickory Hardware are beautiful in the bathroom!

Let’s head to the basement.

We painted the stairs and added a runner.

We painted all of the paneling. It brightened up the basement and took it from a dungeon to a place you would want to spend time. It is a blank slate now for the new owners. Again, I want to thank all of you who told me to paint the paneling in my Facebook Live video!

I love the new carpet too. It is a charcoal color and grounds the room so well. I added curtains to the basement windows and the chalkboard wall is so fun!

All the ceiling tiles were replaced and new lights were put in.

The doors to the “office” were painted.

We painted the rest of the concrete floors and the bar looks brand new.

The new furnace, water heater and electrical panel are big items the new home owners will not have to worry about.

We are so proud of our first flip house makeover. We really transformed the look of the house and made it a great home for the new owners. We still feel like it is surreal. If you read my post HERE you know how Matt and I went about starting this new adventure in our lives. If we did not act on that four letter word, our lives would not have been changed. We would still be in our comfort zone, not growing at all. It was a leap of faith that paid off. We are thankful to my cousin and my parents who helped us with different parts of this process. They were an important part of our first flip makeover and we hope they are ready for our next one.

If you saw my Instagram story, you saw that the flip house is SOLD! We never had a For Sale sign in the yard, but a friend contacted me after watching my Facebook Live updates and really wanted to see the house. We showed it to them last weekend and they bought it! The flip house is close to our home and we are so excited about gaining the cutest couple to the neighborhood.

I will be sharing the full bathroom makeover once we get the trim up around the window so stay tuned for that one.
