I have rescued a gazillion pieces of furniture over the years. Okay, gazillion may not be the correct amount, but it has been a lot. Most of the time, the pieces I am bringing home have some issues that need to be fixed before the makeover can begin. There are all kinds of issues Matt and I have learned how to fix, but today, I am going to share how to stop drawers from pushing into a dresser.
Every project Matt and I have done has taught us something new. We have had a ton of failures, but all the failures taught us what to do or not to do next time. Every project brings us a new challenge in figuring out an easy and efficient way to get the job done.
I have picked up many dressers (and other furniture with drawers) that had drawers that pushed past the “threshold” (for lack of a better term) and into the piece 0f furniture. Before we learned this easy hack I am sharing today, Matt has come up with different ways to rebuild the drawers or the inside of the piece of furniture to stop it from happening. That always worked, but there had to be an easier way.
Let me introduce you to these little gems.
These little pieces are the hack! They are your best friend when you have a drawer that pushes inside the dresser or buffer. Get drawer stops in your toolbox! They are inexpensive and will save you so much time and effort in making over pieces like this.
I like that these are designed just like the antique stops that are in a lot of older pieces. I am only rescuing the older pieces to paint or makeover, so these stops work perfectly every time.
This is how to stop drawers from pushing into a dresser. They are the easiest solution for the problem. They are easy to install and work every time.
Here is a video I shared in the MCD Creative Squad group to show you how easy they are to install.

There is no reason for Matt to rebuild dressers anymore. We always have a stash of the stops on hand. There are no fancy tools needed and you don’t have to have to go through tons of steps to get it done. I LOVE SOLUTIONS AND HACKS LIKE THIS! I love it, even more, when I get to share it with you.
I hope this easy hack will save a lot of your projects. I would love to see if you use them! Share a photo and tag me on Instagram @mycreativedays!
