I finally got my summer Decorated box!! It is full of new summer decor that I was excited to use around our home.
Summer is a season that I don’t really decorate for, but it is a season that I like to change things around so our home is simple and welcoming for the slower summer months. Every spring, we have a huge yard sale. I purge all the things and relish in a simpler home going into the summer months. Even though the clutter is gone and the decor has been edited, I knew my Decocrated box was coming, so I would get to add a few new pieces to the decor for summer.
You can see the live unboxing later in this post.
The summer box did not disappoint! I can use everything inside for many seasons, which always makes me happy. I am not one who likes to store a lot of decor for each season, so the more use I can get out of decor, the more I love it. The new summer decor in this box was a lot of fun to play around with and add to our home.
Let me show you what I did with each piece.
The first thing I pulled out of the box was the blue and white striped rug. It is perfect for the kitchen or our back porch and I don’t feel like it is specific to summer.
When I saw this gold piece, I immediately thought Gabrielle would love it in her room. There are hangers on the back to hang it on the wall, but I liked the fact that you could set it on a table or shelf because the base is wide enough. It is also a very versatile decor piece. I see it with plants like the photo above, but I think it would be pretty filled with supplies in an office too.
I loved this potted, faux succulent. Faux plants are for me. I can’t keep anything alive inside our home – including succulents – yes, I have tried them. My “Faux Plant Lady” self is always happy to incorporate a little fake greenery in our home. The concrete pot is the star in this little number for sure. I put it inside the lantern I got in the spring Decocrated box.

I love mirrors in decor and a wood framed mirror is even better. When I brought this out of the box, I thought it was a mirrored tray. Then, I saw the hanger. It could definitely be used as a tray because the mirror is inset and the wood frame makes “sides” around it. It would be easy to remove the hanger if you wanted to use it that way. All I would do it add felt circles to the bottom and it would be good to go. This mirror was the perfect size to fit above the desk we made for Gabrielle’s bedroom makeover. Again, this is something I can use in any room in our home and it can be used all year long.
There is always a featured artist in every Decocrated box. I love that. For the summer box, it was the pillow covers. Who doesn’t love a pop of cheerful yellow in the summer? They are perfect for our chairs on the front porch. I also feel like they would work in the fall. The back is like a woven burlap fabric. Very beachy. Very summery.
The last thing I opened in the box was this adorable tiered tray. You know I have an obsession with tiered trays, right? I LOVE THEM! They are the first thing I grab when I need a little decorating fix. They can be used for so many things too. They aren’t just pretty, but super functional too. This one is so good because of the shape and size. I love that the trays are rectangular and it isn’t too big and yet not too small either. The trays are removable, so you can use them without the stand if you wanted. Decor with multiple uses is a win-win in my book.
We had been planning a smores night out by the fire pit we have been fixing up, so when Gabrielle saw the tiered tray, she said I should use it for our smores bar.
It was a great idea. Everything fit on the tray. So much better than having to make multiple trips inside for everything you forgot.
I love sharing my favorite things with you guys. I love trying new things and sharing my honest opinion. If you are someone who likes to decorate or someone who wants your home to be decorated, but need a little extra help, get yourself a Decocrated box. It only comes four times a year, so it isn’t a monthly commitment (one of my favorite things about it). It is full of pieces that you can use for the season it is intended for and most of the time, you can use the pieces all year long.
For me, when the box arrives, it is like Christmas. I never look to see what is coming, so every piece is a surprise. Once I open everything up, I get to play “decorator” and discover new ideas for our home. It is so much fun!
