Thrift Store Cloches Makeover

2 Mins read

Most of the time, when I shop at a thrift store, I don’t buy anything. Then, there are those few times when I feel like I hit the jackpot and find some pretty exciting things. Last week, I went into the last store of the day and found so many good things. You can see my haul on my YouTube video HERE. Two of the things I found that day were a pair of tall cloches! I couldn’t believe they were still there and they were also half off! JACKPOT! I loved the shape of the cloches and how tall they were, but I wasn’t a fan of the gold top. I knew that was an easy fix and I am excited to share this thrift store cloches makeover with you!

This makeover is so easy. I shared the process live on Facebook. You can see the video below.

Steps To Get The Aged Medal Look on These Cloches:

  1. Put two coats of the primer on. Make sure the first coat is dry before applying the second coat.
  2. Once the second coat is dry, apply one coat of the bronze paint
  3. While the bronze paint is wet, spray the Blue Patina Aging Solution over the paint.
  4. Let the magic happen. Once the solution is dried, the project is done.
  5. If I missed a spot with the solution or I want more of the patina look, I paint the area again with the bronze paint and spray with the solution again.

You can use these products and anything. I shared How To Create Aged Copper Patina On Wood & Metal and I was also able to use it on plastic. I have been floored by how well this stuff works and how easy it is to use. You can’t mess it up. You can’t do it wrong. I love products like that. I love products that help me create the look I want with little effort and little time.

These cloches will be used all year round. I will fill them with nests and eggs for spring. I will add faux plants under them during summer and Christmas decor in the winter. So many possibilities and they look great no matter what is under them.
