Easy Christmas Tablescape With Thrift Store Finds

3 Mins read

It is nothing new around here to see a tablescape put together around each new holiday and/or season when it rolls around. Putting together an easy Christmas tablescape had to be in the post schedule this month – not only because I love to do them, but because I found some beautiful pieces at my local thrift stores to add to a Christmas tablescape so a blog post all about them had to happen.

A few months ago, I was at a thrift store and noticed some dishes that were calling my name from afar. As I got closer to check them out, I knew I loved them before I picked them up. The creamy white color – beautiful. They were xsimple, yet had very pretty details on them.

I picked them up and looked on the bottom of them (because that is what you do when you are shopping at a thrift store). They were Pioneer Woman’s dishes! I have seen her dishes at Walmart, but never any that were like this. They have to be good if they are hers, right?! 🙂

During a recent trip to a different thrift store, I found beautiful crystal glasses. They were pushed way back on a bottom shelf, but when I saw them, I knew I had to have them if they price was right. I picked up one and it had a green sticker with an “x” on it. That told me that they were selling them as a set.

So, I had to count how many there were and also find the glass that had the price on it. THERE WERE 17 IN THE SET!!! That was way more than I needed or wanted so I thought for sure they were going to be very pricey. I continued to look under each glass and finally found the winner! The price was $3.95 for all 17!!! Okay, the price was right. I put them all in my cart and headed to checkout.

The plaid table runner is a blanket scarf!! I found a couple of them – brand new, with Old Navy tags still on them at a thrift store. I will always stop at the scarves in a thrift store because you never know what you are going to find. The blanket scarves are great to use as table runners, to throw in a basket as a blanket or I guess you can also use them as a scarf. 🙂 I have even wrapped scarves around gifts before.

Plaid scarves are my weakness because I love plaid. I have bought them just to cut up and make ornaments and other decorations with. It is so much cheaper than buying fabric in a fabric store. The possibilities are endless so make sure to hit the scarf section at your local thrift store.

For the centerpiece, I grabbed the wood box that I created for my coffee table HERE and put it on the table. EASY PEASY! I always preach to search around your home for pieces you can use in other areas. Taking the decorated tray off the coffee table frees up space on the coffee table so we can add gifts to it when company is here. It’s a win-win.

I added the cranberries and pine to the tablescape that I picked up at Walmart for my Christmas Kitchen Tour. Simple, festive touches that don’t take any effort at all. Around the holidays, try to buy things that you can use more than once so you get a bigger bang for your buck.
